We have been trying so hard to get Katherine home!

On April 18th, 2008 we sent in our LOI (Letter of Intent) to adopt Katie. The next step is to wait for our letter LOA ( Letter of Acceptance) from China. Our agency told us it could take anywhere between 1 to 4 months.
We are now on day 73 but who's counting!

August 12, 2008
I was told the travel dates would be in by now.  Some did arrive today, but or course, not ours.
Figures! Why should it go any differently at this point.

Tomorrow is another day!!
OK, really if it  does not come in tomorrow I am going to be plain old pissed off!!
Still no TA

Today is Monday August 4th.  Lots of families received their travel approvals  late last week so I was thinking it would arrive today.  It did not and I am very disappointed.
I really was hoping it would come before the Olympics started.   We have until Friday so we will see what plays out in the next few days.
Foster Family
July 10, 2008
An adoptive family from our yahoo group had a chance to visit the orphanage while they were in China.  They were so sweet to check on Katherine.  They found out  Katherine was moved into foster care!
I was sort of in shock when I first heard the news.

At first I was upset.  Why did the orphanage wait so long??  I am concerned  she is going to have two major transitions within a few months.  But after I thought about it for a while, I know  it is a good thing.  She will have one-on -one attention.  Hopefully, her foster family is taking extra time and helping her to eat.  Most of the babies coming from the orphanage are still on bottles.  I just hope they are giving her hugs, kisses and lots of love!

Our adoption agency confirmed today that she is with a foster family.  She is still very close to the orphanage.
Waiting for LOA

I have to admit I had a major freak out last week!
(My sister can vouch for this)

We have been waiting for a medical update on Katherine through our adoption agency. We should have received information weeks ago, but for some reason we have not.   As of last week, not a word had come in about Katie and no paperwork information either.  I was totally frustrated to say the least!
By Thursday, things were looking up!  I contacted Ann at Red Thread China and sent a care package to Katherine. I was so happy !   We sent her a blanket, a stuffed animal and cookies for her and the nannies.   Also, we sent two disposable cameras and a letter to the Director of the orphanage asking if they would take lots of pictures.  Well, the very next morning, even before the care package arrived, I received pictures and updated measurements of Katie.  I was thrilled!   On Friday, our agency was told us our Dossier was in the " review room".  Any news, is good news!!
Today is day 73. We continue to wait....
