I belong to a yahoo group for families who have adopted, or, are in the process of adopting a child from the Dongguan City, Social Welfare Institute.  I have received wonderful advice and support from these families.

Each time a family travels to the orphanage they try and check on the waiting babies and take pictures.  In June, a "Kiss My Baby" list was formed.  Katherine was on the list.  I was so hoping for any updates.  Mother nature had her own plans.  It rained and rained and flooded out the main road to the orphanage.   The family who had Katherine on their list had to cancel due to the heavy flooding.    :(

As I mentioned in the journal section, another family made a visit a few weeks ago.  They kindly asked about Katherine and found out she was moved to a foster family.  I had mixed feelings about this.

On July 18th, I checked my email and was thrilled to find about 16 pictures of Katie.  A very sweet woman named Debbie and her family visited the orphanage.  The director actually called the foster family (they live close by) and they brought Katherine for a visit.  Debbie got to hold her while her daughter and husband took many pictures.  We were so surprised and happy!!  We truly appreciate it!
